Where to Look for The Holy Logs of VCAV

VCloud Availability for VCLOUD Director even at the smallest deployment involves several nodes and when things don’t go as planned , logs tell us the truth .

So here are the truth tellers to look for and listen to them very carefully, for they always tell the truth 😉 .

On the Tenant
 1_ VRMS -- /opt/vmware/vcta/logs/vcta-debug.log
 2_ ESX /var/log/vmkernel.log
On the Provider
3_ HCS logs at opt/vmware/logs/hms/hcs.log [ if you have more than one VRCS , monitor both or kill everything but one and monitor that , easy to debug]
4_ similarly - Have one cloud proxy and monitor that at below logs
 tail -f /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/logs/cloud-proxy.log
 tail -f /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/logs/vcloud-container-debug.log
5_ also for VCD cell , have one and kill remaining and observe
 tail -f /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/logs/vcloud-container-debug.log
